Age
requirements to play
By
law, you must be 18 or older to play 3D Poker Room.
Connections
Concerns
Unlike
real card rooms, online poker relies on a continuous
internet connection. But as we all know, breaks in
service can occur. Below is a summary of how 3D Poker
Room deals with these issues.
Connection
is lost at your end
In
principle, this would be a case where the server and
all other players are still connected and playing,
but for one reason or another, your machine is no
longer linked.
Causes:
This could occur if you're using a modem over a phone
line, and someone else in your home disrupts the connection
by picking up the phone; or if you're using a cable
modem, and the circuit between you and the Internet
goes down; or even if your machine locks up or freezes.
What
you will see:
If your machine or software has frozen, animations
may still continue, but no new action will take place.
If, on the other hand, your connection is lost, your
3D Poker Room software will keep trying to locate
the main server. After about 20 seconds the scene
will darken. If you were in a game and re-connect
within a set time limit, you will be pulled directly
back into your seat, and if there's still time, you'll
be prompted to act.
What
the server will do:
The server, in your absence, will make decisions based
on your last known state. If you were in the middle
of a hand, the system gives you some extra time to
come back into the game. Once that time expires, you
are treated as having gone all-in (unless you've gone
all-in more than the allowable number of times, in
which case your hand is folded).
Connection
is lost at the server
This
should never happen, but in principle it would be
a case in which all players remain connected to the
internet, but for one reason or another, the poker
server can no longer link to anyone.
Causes:
This could be due to a broken communications link
between our server and the Internet. We have taken
extensive precautions to prevent this scenario, but
100% reliability is not possible. Of course, the server
machine running the server software could also fail.
What
you will see:
Your 3D Poker Room software will warn you that the
connection has become questionable, and after about
20 seconds the scene will darken and display a "trying
to reconnect" message. If the connection to the
server is restored, you will be logged back in automatically.
What
the server will do:
If the server machine or software caused the server
to go down unexpectedly, all player account information
remains unchanged from the end of the last completed
game transaction - i.e. if you were in the middle
of a hand when the server was lost, nothing that took
place during that hand will change your account (sometimes
good news, sometimes not).
Courtesy
Common
sense, common courtesy, and a willingness to play
the game according to accepted conventions are basic
requirements for participating in 3D Poker Room. We
ask that you respect other members and expect the
same in return.
We
monitor game and chat activity and also encourage
our members to alert us to those who abuse the game
or show disrespect. In these cases we intervene to
resolve issues as best we can. Those who are repeatedly
disrespectful or disruptive to game play will be locked
out.
It
is our goal to host a game that's civil, fun, challenging
and exciting. Please abide by these principles and
enjoy all that's available at 3D Poker Room.
